About Pamela
A transplant to Texas, Pamela is a busy mom of three children and has been married to her husband, Matt, for 20 years. Her youngest daughter attends the Lovejoy Child Development Center “LCDC”, her son attends Puster Elementary, and her eldest daughter is a cheerleader at Willow Middle School (soon to be in High School).
Pamela, and her family moved to the beautiful town of Fairview, Texas for better schools, more opportunity, a little bit of “country living”, and Jesus. Pamela has worked in the nonprofit sector for nearly 20 years working both in-house for nonprofit organizations as well as a Fund Development Consultant.
Pamela Sailor has a long history of being dedicated to her community. At age 13, Pamela began her journey of being actively involved in supporting her community as a student volunteer in the Kiwanis Club. In High School, she volunteered at the “World’s Coolest Teen Camp” through OCF-OCF helping pediatric patients, survivors and their families.
After High School, Pamela attended California State University, Fullerton where she received her B.A. in Communications with an emphasis in Public Relations. Her volunteer work continued through college and beyond including working with the Multiple Sclerosis Society, Alzheimer's Association, Susan G. Komen for the Cure, Miss America Organization (locally in her hometown), Education for Humanity, and many others. In fact, she received the Presidential Volunteer Service Award by the age of 23 for contributing more than 5,000 hours of volunteer service to her community.
Pamela spent the first few years of her career in Marketing and Public Relations for clients including Toshiba and Coldwell Banker. But a chance encounter with the Executive Director of Casa Teresa, a homeless shelter for pregnant women, is when her career path really began to blossom. There, she facilitated the grassroots organization through a period of tremendous growth providing marketing and breaking fundraising records through various fund development efforts. Later, during her time with the local chapter of the Boy Scouts of America as the Finance Director, Pamela raised hundreds of thousands of dollars annually through the Golden Eagle campaign and various fundraisers. While working for Providence Speech and Hearing Center, Pamela vastly increased their revenue year-after-year breaking fundraising records including raising $1M between two events (one event raised $100K over budget and the other raised $350K over budget).
Wanting to have a better work-life balance, Pamela set out on her own in 2016 opening Yellow Brick Consulting and has been helping small- to mid-sized nonprofits raise money, share their stories, and thank supporters. She helps her clients focus on donor-centric communications and she has a proven track record for increasing donations, developing meaningful relationships with key stakeholders, and meeting or exceeding organizational goals and objectives. Because people give to charities for deeply personal reasons, Pamela believes it is critical to understand and acknowledge these reasons as a way to honor the individual donors. Pamela’s approach to philanthropy is to always have a thankful undertone, be joyful, and be intentional.
Pamela understands how tough it is to run a top school district in the state of Texas, and she believes Lovejoy ISD could benefit from her experience.
Pamela and her husband proudly support public schools and believe in working hard to offer students exemplary education. She knows the value that a quality public education can bring to each student, their individual families, as well as our community as a whole. Pamela believes in preparing students to be successful in the classroom as well as preparing them for success in life after Lovejoy. Pamela firmly believes that parental rights must be at the forefront of School District decisions (there's a story there - so ask her about it). Through her decades of professional and volunteer work providing critical needs and human services, she plans to utilize this diverse background to ensure each child has an equal opportunity to learn and succeed.
Pamela Sailor would be honored to have your vote for Lovejoy ISD Board of Trustees Position 2.
